4th China Charity Project Contest training camp opens in Shenzhen

On Sept. 14, 2015, the 4th China Charity Fair Project Contest training camp kicked off in Huaqiangbei International Maker Center. The camp was hosted by China Charity Fair (CCF) and cosponsored by Shenzhen Bureau of Civil Affairs, Shenzhen Charity Fund, Shenzhen Media Group, and Mango V Foundation. This is a nationwide and open charity project contest. Different from previous China charity project contests, this contest used media jury, dream mentor, training camp and live PK, which are only used in TV show before. The sponsors believe that such arrangements for the events, not only help to strengthen cross-boundary communication, and bring fresh wind to China charitable field. Since the 4th annual China Charity Project Contest was initialized in Shenzhen Stock Exchange on June 16, it has been highly appreciated by charity organizations, Medias, enterprises and college students and has become a nationwide event promoting social innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital managements. The contest had received 1323 projects from 331 universities and 582 social organizations. The contest was divided into 3 sections: social innovation project contest, college student charity projects contest, and college student charity videos contest. After qualification screen and two rounds of competitions, a total of 30 winners, including 20 college student charity projects and 10 social innovation projects, were selected into the final competition. The winners would share a total of RMB more than 3 million, and other generous incentives. The 30 selected projects would be eligible to receive mentoring form Big Star group, venture supervisor group, and become the first batch of alumni member of China Charity Maker Union. 30 final competitors would receive free special training from China Charity Maker Union training camp. The training camp/final contest, lasting five days, served the 30 final competitors. It was held in Shenzhen Huaqiangbei International Maker center, Qianhai ShenzhenHong Kong youth dream workshop and Charity Fair (Shenzhen Exhibition Centre). In order to improve the quality of candidate projects before the final, sponsors set up a serial of class including "kicking off and grouping: icebreaking journey", "Crossboundary social entrepreneurship training courses", "Qianhai Dream Workshop contest day," and "Final judges", "Charity fellowship", and "Training camp graduation ceremony ". Famous crossboundary teachers were invited to mentor members of training camp.
Shenzhen Sangel Venture Capital Corp./Sage Angel Incubator was invited to attend the contest as mentor. Chief business mentor of Sage Angle Incubator Mr. Liu Mulong, President of Grassroots Angel Association Mr. Chen Weiwei, and other angel investors Bai Yunfan, Dai Lu, Li Xin, and Cheng Honghong served as business mentors to provide particular mentoring for individual projects. Gold medal and silver medal projects were selected by expert committee. On the first day of training camp, mentors sit close to attendees and provided guidance to projects and answered questions about the contest. Later, Mr. Liu Mulong, CEO of Shenzhen Sangel Venture Capital Corp., was interviewed by local reporters. Mr.Liu said that he is glad to see the emergence of China charity projects in recent years, more than happy to be able to provide attendees with his mentoring and willing to contribute more efforts to China charity.
"Popular social entrepreneurship, public charity innovation", we believe that this training camp will promote involvements of crossboundary forces in social innovations, formation of China charity makers union, and establishment of Chinese social innovation ecosystem. China charity entrepreneurship will be largely improved by increasing the efficiency to solve social problems.
